Glen E. Scheib, E.A.: Founder of Professional Accounting Services in January 1980 

Since inception, Glen has performed accounting, tax services, and consulting to over 5,000 individuals and small businesses.  He has the ability to not only review and assimilate detailed information, but also to see the "big picture" and how the different moving parts of a small business fit together and achieve synergy.

Glen has served on numerous advisory boards, past and present, utilizing his sought-after trusted counsel and expertise. 

He is an enrolled agent qualified to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service.  He also holds a double major from the University of Kansas (1974) in Accounting and Business Administration.  While attending KU, Glen was an integral part of the KU track team and actively involved in fraternity leadership.  Additional education includes work on an MBA from Rockhurst College. 

His hobbies include golf, officiating high school basketball games, and spending time with family and friends.

 


Michael S. Stachowski, C.P.A., L.L.C., A.B.V., C.V.A., C.F.F., C.B.M., & M.S.T.  

Michael assists with audits, management advisory, corporate financial accounting, income tax planning, IRS and other representation, tax research, and tax compliance.  He has considerable experience consulting with business owners on all aspects of business and financial planning, from small private companies to multi-million dollar corporations. 

His experience also includes financial and tax accounting for mergers and acquisitions, foreign subsidiaries, foreign sales corporations, business valuations, serving as an expert witness in court, as well as accounting software setup and installation. 

Michael is a trusted business advisor, working with companies to calculate economic damages, fraud prevention, detection, and deterrence, as well as financial statement misrepresentation. 

He holds a Bachelor's in Accounting and Business (with high honors), a Master's in Accounting and Taxation (with high honors) from the University of Missouri, and also holds a Certificate in Financial Planning from the University of Missouri.  He is a Certified Public Accountant, Accredited in Business Valuations, Certified Valuation Analysis, Certified Financial Forensics, Certified Business Manager, and is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.  He was nominated and became a member of the 6th Congressional District Tax Reform Advisory Council (Congressman Sam Graves) in January 2006.  He also writes for the Missouri Society of CPAs and the Kansas City Star in the business section on various taxation topics.  


Theresa Bird:  Accountant

Theresa Bird came to work at PAS in our early years.  After 15 years of service she left to join Youth With A Mission (YWAM) - traveling to 12 different countries in 8 years and working mainly as the Operations Manager for many international YWAM projects.  After leaving YWAM, Theresa worked as the Controller for the Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Club for three seasons before returning to us in October of 2009.  She has always had a good rapport with her clients and has a solid understanding of accounting.  Theresa is quick and proficient, whether she is completing clients' monthly accounting or working on tax returns.  She is an avid sports fan and will be glad to relieve you of tickets to any sporting event in the Kansas City area.  Theresa is fun-loving and likes to make people laugh - most tell her she doesn't fit the stereotype for those in the accounting field.


Ruby Courtney:  Accountant

Ruby has worked at Professional Accounting Services since 1997, performing bookkeeping, reconciliation, tax filing, and other accounting services for a variety of small and large business clients.  Ruby also handles international and domestic wire transfers, multi-state payrolls, and quarterly taxes.  She is our primary liaison with the IRS and the state taxing authorities for electronic filing of individual and corporate tax returns.  Prior to joining PAS, she worked as an accountant for the Kansas City Aviation Department, successfully performing several different positions including reconciling accounts, accounts payable supervisor, and overseeing accounting practices for the passenger terminals at KCI Airport.  Ruby served on several committees and received the "Excellence in Performance" award in 1997.

Ruby graduated with honors from Missouri Western State College in 1994, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting.  In her senior year she was voted by the Department of Business and Economics at MWSC for the Financial Executives Institute Award.

Ruby says, "I like meeting my clients' needs.  I really find satisfaction when everything comes together."  She is an avid reader, enjoys walking, bicycling, working in the yard, as well as spending time with family and friends.


Debbie Porter:  Accountant

Debbie has worked at Professional Accounting Services since 1999 on a part-time basis, performing bookkeeping, reconciliation, tax filing, and other acounting services for a variety of small and large business clients.  She has over 27 years of accounting experience, with a main emphasis on small business and payroll, including more than 18 seasons of tax preparation experience.  Debbie is very knowledgeable, and has high integrity aswell as an outstanding attention to detail.  She likes building good working relationships with clients.

Debbie is a graduate of Block Tax School, and worked for H & R Block as a tax preparer for 6 years before joing PAS.

Debbie has been married for 26 years, has 3 children, and loves spending time with family.  She also likes running, working out, and cooking. 


Debbie Cravens:  Accountant

Debbie Cravens has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems (with honors) from Missouri State University and an Accounting Certificate.  She has been part of the PAS team since September 2004.

She is an essential part of our office, as she wears many hats.  Not only does she provide excellent service to our clients with monthly accounting, payroll, and payroll tax filing, but she also specializes in incorporations and is solely responsible for PAS invoicing.

Debbie enjoys getting to know our clients as well as assisting them with their accounting needs.  She also enjoys reading, singing, and spending time with family and friends.


Katy Orr:  Accountant

Katy has been a part of the PAS team for several years.  She started working with us during tax season, soon switching to part-time, and eventually joining us as a full-time staff member in 2008.

Katy enjoys working with our accounting and payroll clients and has fast become our resident "go-to gal" when it comes to payroll processing in our office.  She is very conscientious and thorough with her work.  Katy's goals include being accurate, organized, and detailed.  She is committed to our clients to provide whatever help they may need.

Katy is the proud mother of two boys, and enjoys going to the movies and playing board games in her off time.  She received a Certificate from Maple Woods Community College. 


Julie Hughes:  Accountant

Julie has worked at Professional Accounting Services since May 2008.  She has over 20 years of experience in the accounting and tax industry serving in the Greater Kansas City businesses.  Her responsibilities include reconciling bank accounts and general ledgers, payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, and many other accounting functions.  She specializes in working with Quickbooks and is a Quickbook Pro Advisor.  She has the ability to assist clients in Quickbooks training that is very informative and easy to understand.

Julie's spare time is spent with her husband and kids.  Most weekends, spring, summer, and fall are spent at the softball complex cheering on her daughters' competitive softball teams.

 


Amanda Root:  Accountant

Amanda Root graduated Summa Cum Laude from Park University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration/Finance and a minor in Economics.  She began working at PAS in January 2010.  She is responsible for greeting customers, answering and directing calls, payroll processing, monthly accounting, copying tax returns, producing financial statements, and data entry.

In her free time, Amanda enjoys singing, dancing, cooking, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.  She and her husband Bryan lead worship at their church, Family Worship Center of Smithville, and they also provide a weekly home discipleship group for young adults at FWC.
